SAUL PULLMAN

Retirement is Great! It has now been one and one-half months and things are looking up. Simply said, it's the best thing to happen to Saul since he he had his tonsils removed in the old Paine Hospital. In those days you got to eat ice cream after the operation and that was a treat, because ice cream was kin da hard to come by. If you were a good boy you got to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Have you thought about your retirement yet? There is a significant movement across the country, that says that you should retire on your 55th birthday. If this is true I waited one year too long and I hope I can catch up. Once you take that big step and move into the world of the retired "what-ever-you-are" You whole life changes and all of those aches and pains are gone, you eat what you want and sleep like a babby. You forget what day of the week it is and Monday's begin to be as enjoyable as Friday's. You try to find something to do and find out that doing nothing takes up most of your day.

There's Nothing Like It  It's kind of like that ole rabbit at the top of the page. You keep up your pace and before long you are doing more and more and enjoying it more and more. You have all of those hard options to make. Do I play golf, do I go fishing, do I work on the tractor, do I mow the grass. The great thing about all of this is if you don't do it right now You Have the rest of your life to do it so don't get in a hurry.
